From classic to cool, downtown streets are lined with the sight of these show cars on the fourth Sunday of the month from 12 noon – 4 pm. Music, food and more! Family Friendly and free to the public with many venues featuring additional specials.
Show Cars: Roads close at 10:00 am. We request you not begin arriving until then. This event fills quickly and to ensure an orderly lineup please enter at First and Monroe Street and Do not move barricades. Please respect parking policy by following the flow of traffic, not blocking fire hydrants, handicap ramps, sidewalks or driving access for any street. Exits are on First and Broadway, Hendry and Bay, Hendry and Main and First and Jackson – we prefer you not leave until the event is over. Event footprint increases during seasonal months. Even if it rains, the show goes on; it simply moves into the covered Gainer Veranda. Island Jazz features Harry Reiner on trumpet, Tom Cooley on drums, Gene Federico on vocals and guitar, Louis Pradt on clarinet, and Ross Simons on keyboard. Frequent guest players include many of the best jazz musicians in southwest Florida playing all styles of music from jazz standards and Dixieland to bop, pop, and more.

Abby Binder has been living in the Bristol Place Assisted Living Facility for four years. During that time she has almost always been the sole occupant of a double room. This is not because there is a vast turnover, but because she is a bully and no one wants to live with her.
Marilyn Dunne is a perky newcomer who inhales life and breathes out fairy dust. She is positive and loves to talk – both qualities that Abby despises. Try as Abby might, she cannot seem to get Marilyn tossed out of the room. As for Marilyn, she likes Abby as well as the view. She does not want to go.
The two strike up a deal. The wager is that if Marilyn can scare Abby she will not only stay but get the bed near the window. If Abby can make Marilyn mad, Marilyn will move out.
Join us as each tries to win the bet! Abby can be downright mean and Marilyn will go pretty far to frighten her roommate. There’s never a dull moment in their battle of wits!

The Gulf Coast Symphony and co-producer Broadway Palm Dinner Theater continues their tradition of spotlighting one great American musical each year. Show Boat will be fully staged with costumes, sets and choreography, and performed with full symphony orchestra. Show Boat follows the lives of the performers, stagehands and dock workers on the Cotton Blossom, a Mississippi River show boat, over 40 years from 1887 to 1927. Its themes include racial prejudice and tragic, enduring love. This show was the first time that serious black and white characters held the stage on Broadway together as equals. The musical contributed such classic songs as “Ol’ Man River”, “Make Believe”, and “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man”.

Mound Key Mondays are back! Explore the remarkable island capital built by the Calusa Indians — known today as Mound Key Archaeological State Park. The most powerful aboriginal group in south Florida, the Calusa were the first known people encountered during Ponce de León’s 1513 voyage that christened La Florida. This guided tour, led by local archaeologist Theresa Schober, includes a cruise through Estero Bay and a historical tour of Mound Key. Departing from Fish Tale Marina on Fort Myers Beach, the tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours and light snacks will be provided. Convenient parking is available at the boat ramp. Instructions on where to meet your tour will be sent to registered participants. Limited space available. Four tour dates. $50 + tax.
