When Jesse Woodyard suddenly passed away in 2014, a group of classmates started a fishing tournament to celebrate his life. After becoming the Fallen Eagle Redfish Classic in 2015, an academic scholarship was created in his memory, so his legacy could last forever.
Today, with over $50,000 in the endowment and two marine science students receiving scholarships each year, the tournament is evolving again. We are proud to announce that the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association will be hosting the FGCU Fishing Invitational on April 6, 2019.
