Kiwanis 12th Annual Calusa BUG Chase 5K Run 2020 @ Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium
Jan 25 @ 7:00 am – 10:30 am

If you have participated in this race before, you know what a great time you have running this unique course while helping the schoolchildren of Lee County. The course includes cypress wetlands, pine flatwoods, and a restoration area. Wildflowers and low-growing plants such as purple aster grow along the paths.

The Kiwanis Calusa BUG Chase 5K Run is a race to benefit the Bring up Grades programs in local Lee County elementary schools and other Metro-McGregor Kiwanis club sponsored children’s projects. Kiwanis Bring up Grades, or ‘BUG’, is a program designed to provide recognition to students who raise their grades to an acceptable range and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next. The Metro-McGregor Kiwanis sponsors a recognition program at multiple elementary schools for BUG students, providing certificates and incentives during the ceremony.
