Matlacha/Pine Island Things to Do

NATURE… ART… FOOD – That’s Matlacha/Pine Island. This community is amazing. Along with boating, fishing, biking and shopping , here are some of my other favorite things to do in this beautiful coastal village:

Lovegrove Gallery & Gardens

This is a must see!  Leoma Lovegrave’s work is stunning. The colors are so vibrant – her work is truly one of a kind. When I visited her gallery (and garden) I was in awe. She really encompasses the Florida that I love so much.

Sometimes the most beautiful things are the simplest. Every view from Matlacha Community Park takes my breath away. So thankful to live here!

Flavors of Matlacha Walking Tour (Seasonal)

4530 Pine Island Rd. NW, Matlacha

42206652_711821459170001_4475578174104666112_nThis was such a fun surprise! Unfortunately, the tours are only available during season, BUT… I strongly recommend that you take advantage of the tour when it’s available. I learned so much about Matlacha (and had some of the most amazing food ever) during our walk about!

Gulf Coast Kayak

Kayak-Tour-522x283So this Florida girl has to admit… I am a little scared of kayaks! BUT… I have many friends that kayak around Matlacha/Pine Island that say it’s absolutely stunning (and I have seen the pictures – I concur)!

Matlacha Bat House Park

4445 Pine Island Road, Matlacha

This place is small, but interesting! Whether you like bats or not.. you cannot deny that the view from the “Bat House” is absolutely gorgeous!

I am “all in” for any tour where I have the potential to see dolphins! Okay… I will be honest.. I am “all in” for any boat tour.

Randell Research Center /Calusa Heritage Trail

13810 Waterfront Drive, Pineland

The Heritage Trail at Randell Research Center is one of my favorite places in Lee County. It’s so peaceful and serene… sometimes we just need a quiet place to regroup!

Museum of the Islands

I LOVE history. Anytime I can learn more about my community, I am all in!

Wild Child Art Gallery

4625 Pine Island Road NW, Matlacha

This “wild child” loves all art – so when I visit this gallery I am in my glory! I wish I had that talent!
